12 by 12 Chess, as the name implies, is played on a 12 x 12 board, but with a regular set of pieces.
The bigger board opens up the game - the home-rank pieces have more squares to manoeuvre right from the first move.
The moves of the pieces remains the same as Standard Chess.
Pawns promote as normal when they reach the 10th rank. Therefore, Pawns advance as far as they would on a regular board before promotion.
En passant rules remains the same as Standard Chess.
Check and Checkmate rules remain the same as Standard Chess.
Stalemate conditions remain the same as Standard Chess.
