Embassy Chess

Variant of Grand Chess played on an 8x10 board.

Introduction

Embassy Chess is variation of Grand Chess which uses a 10 x 8 board and reintroduces castling.

Starting Position

The Marshal sets up on F1 and the Cardinal on G1.

Moves of the Pieces

Embassy Chess adds a Marshal and a Cardinal, both of which combine the power of a Knight with another either a Rook or a Bishop.

Moves like a Knight, which can also attack horizontally and vertically like a Rook.

Pawn Promotion

Pawn promotion rules remains the same as Standard Chess.

Castling

The King move three squares for both for kingside and queenside castling, rather than the normal two.
